With the immediate threat eliminated, John rose to his feet and started making his way rapifdly towards the exit, keeping his eyes and ears open for more of the sim-bots.

2.2 and 2.3 were the only other bots in the maze and 2.3 was waiting at the finish completely still and cloaked, meanwhile 2.2 sat atop one of the walls of the maze watching tthe target make his way towards the it and decided to wait until the target was right underneath it and then to jump on the target. It prepared itself and waited for John.

John made his way quickly but carefully through the maze and his sense of apprehension grew the longer he was unopposed. I'm missing something, he thought to himself, but wasn't sure how he could lure the sim-bots out of hiding. And that last one had been far to close. John needed some kind of edge. He glanced around the gym, peering through the walls of the maze, and his eyes finally lit upon a discareded piece of rope left over from some kind of previous activity that had been discarded in the maze. John wasn't sure if using props was against the rules or not, but Mr. Barker hadn't said he couldn't. Improvise, adapt and overcome, John repeated one of his Uncle's favorite mantra's to himself as he began to swing the rope around, using it to feel ahead of him for a sim-bot, making sure to remember that he was dealing with three dimension's, not just two, and making sure the top of the maze was clear as well. This was slower, but would enable him to find the sim-bots before they found him. Or cause them to move out of the way, which would enable John to hear them.

2.2 was a robot and it's face was metal so it couldn't frown in surprise, but if it could have, it would have. It watched him spinning the rope around and ran through all of the scenarios in it's memory bank. It finally found one about spinning around a chain and decided that the forces and motion of the rope were similar enough and ran it. It jumped down behind the target and moved silently up behind him...

The robot may have moved silently but it was heavy and couldn't land silently. John heard something hit the floor behind him and spun around, swinging the rope. Since the robot was moving it had dropped it's cloaking field enough John could detect it. John pointed at the sim-bot and as it made it's way out of the maze John turned back around and began swinging the rope ahead of him again. Hopefully if there were any more sim-bots in the maze the same trick would work again.

2.3 sat at the end of the maze and watched this exchange through the ultraviolet spectrum, it saw the target take out 2.2 and ran a couple of simulations. It decided on it's course of action. it turned slightly to the right monitoring it's cloaking device and making sure it never went below 90%. It raised it's left arm in front slowly and raised it's right arm ready to catch the rope. When the target got in close enough the robot would grab the swinging rope and pull the target into it's outstreched left arm. Johm was very close now seeing as the bot had had to go so slow to maintain it's cloaking. It watched the swinging rope and prepared for the opportune moment.

The closer he got to the end of the maze, the more tense and nervous John got. He knew Mr. Barker had at least one more trick to throw at him. And when the rope stopped suddenly and he felt something yank on it, he realized what it was. John stumbled forward and fell to his knees as the rope wass unexpectadly yanked on. But fortuanately he wasn't holding it that tight and it flew out of his hands. John glanced up. He still couldn't see or hear the final robot but the rope hanging in mid air made it's location pretty obvious. John pointed at the location of what was hopefully the last robot.

The Robot left and Mr. Barker stopped the timer just as John stepped through the exit. 3:14, not bad...

John glanced across the gym at the stage Mr. Barker was standing on and focused on the timer in his hand. 3 minutes and 14 seconds...not bad at all, John thought, considering he'd been outnumbered. He went over and stood next to Athelia. "I'll trade obstacles with you next time." he joked.

"If you think you can handle it," she said and giggled. "You did well considering they were robots, I wonder what it would have been like with humans who were invisible."
((I don't, not yet anyway, but my mind has been working on a girl who would be older.))

"My Uncle sent me through a few obstacle courses when I was growing up." John replied to Athelia. "But he's never sent invisible robotys after me before. People would have been easier. They breath and have heartbeats. I couldn't hear the robots unless they happened to move."

"True, but humans can think rather than just run a program like a bot. If it was a fight-them-off type of thing instead of point-them-out thing and you did it with humans it would be different. Of course what human would volunteer for that job in the first place?" She laughed lightly.

"volunteer to be in a sparring match? I would...it's a greaty way to learn." John replied. "And yes, it would be different then the maze...but it wouldn't really be a test of my powers, either. And isn't that what this class was for?"

"I would think if you can learn to use your powers in a fight then you have really learned to use them. To use a power in the obvious way is too simple if you can adapt the power to be used in everyday life then you are really learning something," she spoke with conviction and then shrugged and added, "or atleast thats how I see it."
