Name: Athalia (Lia) Pierce
Age: 16
Grade: 11th, Junior
Gender: Female
Power: The ability to talk to and heal any animal and to morph into any feline, either half or full.
Weakness: Hydrophobia
Physical Description: Lia has short tan-blonde hair with black dyed tips with large rounded cat ears sticking out of it, each one has a string of small loop ears running down the outer edges. Her eyes are hazel cat eyes, her face is a little sharp, her bottom lip is fuller than her top lip, and her canine teeth are over 1 ½”. She is only about 5’4” and weighs around 130; she has a nice figure that is small and tight if not classic. Her clothing is casual, shirts with some sort of funny or sassy saying on it, ballet slippers, and jeans tailored to make room for her clouded leopard tail. If she wants she can also have claws.
Personality: Lia is very good at climbing trees and loves to be up high somewhere so that she can see all that is below her. She seems a little snobby, but it is mostly a mask to hide the pain of her parent’s shunning her. Once known she is sassy and quick witted, also protective of her friends. She is always there for her friends but can hold a grudge like no other. Athalia is a very physical person; she likes to be close to someone and is more relaxed if she is touching another. When it comes to guys she is a flirt, and she loves it. If in a fight she will size up her opponent right before launching herself claws first at the person. She try’s hard to be good, as it is a difficult thing for her, and occasionally fails.
History: Born into a middle class family from Texas Lia had a normal childhood. When she was fifteen however her life changed dramatically. She started hearing voices. But they were not always there, nor where they always the same or in the same numbers. It wasn’t until she tripped over her cat and heard him start cursing her out that she realized what was happening. Her parents thought she was crazy when she suddenly started talking to animals and looked into putting her into and asylum. However two months after she started hearing animals she had an intriguing dream and woke up as a tabby cat staring at her black cat, Mage. She started yowling in panic and her parents came running to find out what had set their cat in such and uproar. But instead of finding one cat and their daughter they saw two.
Once everything was worked out her parents eyed her suspiciously and immediately changed her life from normal to upside down. They pulled her from her school and started home schooling her for the rest of the school year. Two weeks after turning into a cat they received a letter asking Lia to attend Dynatos. They finished the school year and then started packing her up to drop her off for a few years and not have to worry about their freak daughter.
Other: Mage ended up going to school with Lia because he was to painful to keep around for her mother and he wouldn’t leave Lia’s side.
IC: Athalia sat in the back seat of a sedan silently peering out the window of the car. ‘I can’t believe they are just going to dump me,’ she told the black cat sitting on her.
‘Of course you can, you are different after all and look what happened when your cousin got into drugs, he isn’t spoken of anymore.’ Mage did not open his eyes or move in anyway from his spot on Lia’s lap.
‘Yes, but I didn’t think they would just get rid of me! I mean I’m their daughter after all. They could have-‘ her conversation with the black feline was cut off when her father exclaimed, “Finally,” and turned onto a new road. This road was far bumpier but nothing was said as they drove. Soon Lia saw a large white mansion, she sighed, thinking, ‘Well this joyful trip is almost over, how will I live with out all this lively chatter.’ Her parents continued to be quiet in front seat as they drove up the drive way and stopped in front of the mansion.
No one moved as she looked from the back of her father’s head to the back of her mother’s. Finally she groaned and asked Mage to get up. He looked at her and she looked back, but finally the cat jumped off her lap and out the door she had opened. Her father popped the trunk as Lia slid out and stretched. She pulled her purse from the back seat before closing the door harder than she should have. Her mother winced and her father’s mouth tightened into a thinner line but neither moved to help her.
Lia pulled her back pack, and two bags out of the trunk and them slammed it down. She set them on the ground next to Mage and then leaned on her mother’s door.
“Well,” her father said, speaking to her for the first time in two hours, “I guess this is it. Have fun kiddo.”
“We love you,” her mother said as her father started the car. “We’ll talk to you soon.”
Lia smiled and stepped back from the car, “Yeah, well later then.”
As the car pulled out of the drive way Lia told Mage out loud, “I’ll be surprised if I get a letter from them in a month.”
