Name: Sol Amelia Leks
Age: 13
Grade: 8th
Gender: Female
Power: Able to turn invisible by waving a hand in front of her face.
Weakness: Afraid of being the center of attention. She freezes up when there are more that two pairs of expectant eyes on her.
Physical Description: Sol has orange hair that is turning auburn; green eyes; frail build due to lack of excircise, food, and part of her adolsence; and pale skin that eaisly shows the few dotted freckles on her face.
Personality: Generally shy around everyone but her parents. Hates being the center of attention. Quiet, but knowledgable. And loves books.
History: Lived a poor life as an only child with her parents. When she was eleven, she was in the center of attention in a Sunday School class and everyone was looking at her. Sol hid her face behind her hands, and dissappeared. She told her parents when she figured out how to re-appear later that day, and after the shock went away, they did everything to get enough money to send her to the institute.
Other:
IC: "Sol, come on now." She heard her father call from the other side of the house. The girl bit her lip. But I want to bring all of these, Sol thought, looking at her small collection of books. Deciding on what books to bring, she stuffed her Bible and another book into her suitcase, snatched it and her library books up, and raced out of the room.
Her mother and father were waiting for her in the living room. Sol's father took the suitcase from her and marched out to the car, leaving her and her mother to say their Good-Byes. The mother and daughter embraced, tears coming to both of them.
"Bye, Mom." Sol said, trying to control her voice.
"Good-bye, Sol." She replied.
When they split apart, Sol handed her library books to her mother. "Will you return these for me?"
"Sure I will." Her mother took the books and wiped her face.
Sol stared at her a moment, then started toward the door. "I love you! I'll call you and write to you when I get there!" She called.
"I love you too. Be good!"
The girl closed the door behind her and raced out to the running car. She slipped in the front seat next to her father.
"Are you ready to go?" He asked.
"I guess so...." She sighed. "Dad, I don't think I'll ever be ready to go."
He put a hand on her shoulder and smiled down at her. "You'll do fine. You're tougher than you look." He played with a tendril of her hair. "You're growing up too fast."
"No," Sol remarked, "Adults just say that when they can't think of anything else to say."
Mr. Leks put both hands on the steering wheel and gave a laugh. "And where'd you learn that?
She smirked. "A book."
